I ran into my ex-boyfriend last night. I really loved him & I lived with him for 4 1/2 months... but we lived in a tent in the woods... he was a drug dealer.... & Schizophrenic... & he abused me. But I loved him anyway cuz I'm F***ed up. I was having a really bad day & I was going to see my friend & I ran into Kenny [my ex] He recognized me right away & it hurt me to just see him cuz I didn't want to leave him. [my parents had me sent to a program.] but when I saw him I feel in love all over again.

We talked for 4 hours straight. Just talked. He hadn't changed a bit but I sure did. If he had asked me to go away with him I would of. I would of left in a heart beat. But he didn't. He told me he was glad I got help.... & he said he was sorry for ever hurting me....... I know he didn't mean it though.

    Dear Aviva,

Running in to ex's is so hard isn't it? It's strang how all the good times you have come to mind and you forget that you are no longer together and there must be a reason for that.

In your post you talk about how he was a drug dealer and that you are now clean - you know perhaps anyone relating to your old 'drug life' is a bad thing. If at all possible can you put him out of your mind and focus on how much you have achieved by rejecting drugs?

    (((Big hug)))

Hi Aviva, it's me again.  I don't think you're an 'ucked up' person at all.  I think you're confused about what love is versus dependancy.  Maybe.  Think of how far you've come.  You can't save him.  That decision starts with him.  He probably didn't mean what he said, but it doesn't matter does it.  You're a new person now, you've grown, you've moved on and you've discovered a new strenght within yourself.  You have your whole future ahead of you.  Progress forward and don't keep looking over your shoulder.  Focus on something ahead of you.  Take care, Isabella
