Have you got a song stuck in your head?

I know we keep the TA on the 3 songs we are listening to up in front  but today I have had a song by Indigo Girls going around and around in my head.  Worse still when that happens I end up singing along.  Unfortunately, I am a bit deaf and tend to be a bit loud - poor neighbours - and the kids shut the door so they couldn't hear me.

It became so serious that I put the sound track of JC Superstar on to change what I was hearing but that didn't work so now I am hear listening to Indigo Girls and giving in to my head.

This happened once on the train and I realised too late that I was singing along out loud - I was very embarrassed.  Sydney people don't cope with that sort of behaviour.

The song is kid fears.  Does this happen to you?  What is the song you are hearing in your head?

I have a real issue with looping songs. I have played Sweet Jane (With Affection) about 100 times in the last two days. It is so melodic. My daughter shut the door between us a while ago and frequently begs me not to sing out loud!

Thanks to an anonymous brick here i listened to Muse's Unintended. It has been a journey to listen to Wallers music that they have found powerful - taken me to some new places. Now Unintended is latest loop and so glad i discovered it this year - last year it would have had me in floods of tears. Beautiful poignant lyrics.

I get one very strange song that pops into my head when I am stressed about things - its the childs hymn that goes 'he's got the whole world in his hands he's got the (etc etc)'

It just pops in when I am racing about trying to do things, its kind of like my stress anthem. I think because it just goes round and round lyrically and musically its like a merry-go-round and keeps me going! Either that or I am just a loop-nut

The last three days has had me singing Quiet Riot's Bang your Head!  Where did this come from I don't know - I'm in a really good space and this song just doesn't seem to fit.

Whatever was that Kate Bush song about "running up that hill"  it had an odd riff in it that I keep hearing as I am dashing around.

It's taking so long for my computer to bring up each page! I've been tapping my fingers on my desk in front of my keyboard. "William Tell Overture" - if it was a piano keyboard in front of my desk i think I could play the whole thing by now. It'll take me another 10 minutes to do an online scream, now.

It may be that it is with a slight touch of melancholy thinking about Wolfies nephew  ( is anyone on the Wall not caught up with this little lad's fight?) but I have been humming a song by an Australian singer Archie Roach - They took the children away - always catches me in the heart and throat.  I just feel I should try a jolier number but I can't get this one out of my head.

Anyone got a song about babies?

Oh, UM, It'll make you cry...I'm thinking again of Chris Williamson's Lullabye (I don't know why there is an 'e' on the end of the word - that's how it is on the CDs I have) I'll go ahead and try to quote it:

"Like a ship in the harbour

    Like a mother and child

Like a light in the darkness

    I'll hold you a while.

    We'll rock on the water

    I'll cradle you deep

    And hold you while angels

    Sing you to sleep."

She had the whole audience singing it a couple times thought. It is so beautiful it chokes me up.

& now, thanks to Zorro, I also have "Row row row your boat...." going one and on and on and on and on....Thank you SO MUCH Zorro!

This is possibly only going to mean anything to UK 'wallers' but there is an advert on TV right now for Marks and Spencer in which Twiggy, Mylene Class and a couple of others dance around on a beach and it has the most annoying song in it that starts 'I wanna marry a lighthouse keeper and live by the side of the sea....'

It's a really mundane tune and if I get to the remote quickly enough I kill the sound, but if I don't then it sticks - for hours - and it is so annoying !

I'm a real music fan and have loads of songs on all the time. There are 2 songs really stuck in my head at the moment... Never Forget by Take That, and About You Now (slow version) by The Sugababes.

I also really like Brian McFadden's new single Twisted!

Well I don't actually SING anything but while I'm working, I quietly and endlesly whistle The Slaves Chorus from Verdi's 'Nabucco'.  Well I have to strike a balance don't I.  BB

I started this post - but not with the intention of filling my head with yet another song but in trying to move it on!

I find myself today with Katy Perry's Hot n Cold swirling over all other thoughts as I had not recognised the song and of course I did and now I can't get rid of it.  The first several hours of this were fine - but now?   grrrrr - I will be singing Grand Old Duke of York for hours now to change the tune - even the sounds of the train wheels clicking along seemed to be the appropriate beat.

Maybe I should try a round of Kookaburra sits in an old gum tree?
