Your brick story

I keep telling myself that it wasn't my fault, that there was no reason to distrust him. Still, I can't shake the feeling that I should have known better. I never want to be that vulnerable again.

Hey Insignificance, someone has really hurt you that you trusted and what he did was wrong. It just doesn't help enough to know that does it? But you are right to tell your self that you are not responsible for his bad behaviour - don't own it. Keep your self safe - and be nice to yourself. :) UM

I don't know if I really believe that it wasn't my fault. I'm trying to, though. Unfortuantely, being safe and feeling safe are totally different. Still it's definitely nice knowing I'm not alone.

I believe that it is not your fault. I know that it is not okay to use someone in the way that others have used you. I told you this happened to me you would tell me what I am telling you - you are not less than I am, you don't have fewer rights than I have, you don't deserve to be treated any less favourably than I am treated.

This is part of our socialising process that somehow it always has to be a woman's fault. Well that was wrong then and it is wrong now - we are not chattels for men. They want to be seen as weak and not able to control their sexual urges - well that is wrong too.

This is horrible behaviour to inflict on someone else. And none of it is your fault. Take care UM xx

Blaze, nothing about your situation was your fault. I really hope that some day we won't blame ourselves anymore. Still, your support in all of this has meant more to me than anything else. If you weren't around, I'd be lost.

I hope that you are feeling stronger now - self-blame is something we need to look at - would you blame someone else, in the same situation? Try to be kind to yourself, eh -

    Cheers
    Jo
