  'Everything in moderation' - yeah right - how dull is that... I used to smoke but I gave up 9 months ago - I am now the proud owner of an extra 14lbs - can't smoke, so I eat instead. Nothing in moderation in my book. So, what to do? With the wine, I try and miss off the last glass and with the fags, buy and pack of 10 and when they are gone, they are gone. It may kill you, but then again it may not .... enjoy life, just don't abuse it!

  Yes Marmite is that stuff... But it isn't yuk! Marmite is now used here as a description for something that you'll either love or hate. I do think I need to actively stop the binge habit. It has something to do with the last few hours of the day. Something to do with filling that time. It would be a shame to get ill from smoking when I'm not even a proper smoker.

  I'm not a proper smoker, but i do smoke every night because i have nothing better to do!. . and ive began to drink too much too. For me, i need someone to quit for, not myself. i think doing it for yourself is the hardest thing to do, because although you might have the friends trying to help, you're still doing it for you, so relapsing wont hurt a loved one, just yourself. I quit for 3years and fell back into it all due to splitting with a boyfriend.

  The only way to stop is to be very strong within yourself. If you really want to stop, you will - its that will power you need to make yourself get over it. do you want to stop? if you do, get yourself away from the places where you drink, if its at home get rid of the drink and the fags, and get a hobby. if i could afford it, i'd re-join the gym.

  I know how hard it is, i did it once before cold turkey, u can do it too if you reaaalllly want to. I'm behind you 110% just stay strong!

  Do you do it socially or by yourself? I mean it's all very well me saying "well stop doing that then", but it's not something someone else can do for you. You're clearly aware of the need to change. why do you think you keep doing it?
