Your brick story

I just got back from dinner with friends and they informed me that sometimes it is hard for people to get used to my... well... one friend mimicked putting her fingers down her throat and vomiting emotions all over the table and the others agreed with her.

They told me that there are no shades of grey in my world. There is no black and white either - everything is in technicolor.

That I'm like a black swan in a world of white swans. I'm unique and beautiful and sometimes my passion is hard to deal with.

Oh, and I also seem to have issues with boundaries and what is appropriate to discuss with strangers and what is not.

So, our current misunderstanding is not all your fault. You lack the coping skills needed to deal with me.

All of this was said with love. They weren't complaining, they were just trying to help me understand myself.

And I find I am at the other end of the spectrum. How hard it is to find a balance? I guess we just have to live with who we are... as do other people.

It took me years to get to this point. I used to repress and had anger issues. One of the steps I learned in Anger Management was to acknowledge my emotions.

I may have taken it to extremes though.

I don't think so, Thorn. Whilst this may be a special place where people can say whatever they feel, I'm sure others would agree that your posts are always stimulating if not electrifying. You show us the way to let go of our inhibitions and say it how it is and we love you for it. BB

Maybe you are part of a special gene pool - with people like me! I love the fact that some people can see all the detail in the world and not just let the real things fade into a monochrome background. I'm with BB you always bring a sharpness to the discussions - and where would we be if we weren't open and welcoming of the way that you challenge us. You are just you and although your friends have told you these messages with love - they weren't helping you understand you - they were telling you how they hear you. We are all so different but I am not sure that the judgments behind the sentiments really help you understand yourself.
