Your brick story

Ship comes in for Mebenji

When your ship comes in, friend
It will come like fresh wind from the hills
Like the sharp breath of snow from the hills.

And the sails will bear your emblem
And the sails will billow like the sea in the sun
And your sails will gleam with light like the sun.

When your ship comes in, friend
The fanfare will deafen us all with the sound
A fanfare of triumph, joyful the sound.

And your ship will come gentle to dock
All loaded with magic and sunshine and joy
We’ll unload the magic with sunshine and joy.

And bring you the cargo of summer days fine
Bring you the cargo of days full of shine
And bring you the days of sweet summer shine.

Are they gladiolis? Not sure - I may have inadvertantly squashed the pic tying to fit the brick!

I was trying to think of something really pretty, as it is SSSOOOO pretty - but nah, I like your idea UM. it made me laugh.

I hereby and henceforth, or whatever - dub thee, this pretty pink flower-sailed vessal, The Philip Adams! (are you sure it is one 'l'?) One deck will be entirely devoted to our print and audio library, and snail-mail postal service.

Now, while I think about it have you heard of the internet site - e-music? You can download an audio book monthly for $10 - I have a friend who is dyslexic and so finds it really tiresome to read but has been keeping up with books by downloading them. I know that $10 a month isn't cheap but just thought I would let you know.

And on the subject of Philip Adams - how did jomo find this site? We found it through RN didn't we so the Philip Adams seems somewhat appropriate - I don't know about the spelling of Philip - I will check - I got an email from him a while ago as I was after some information.

If you put a quiet meditation room in a deep rose pink I would love to come and visit and sit with you in silence with our thoughts - can I visit?

A rose pink meditation room is a wonderful idea. Do you want it gyroscopically controlled, or hammock, or as a zero gravity environment - or all of these as options? What do candle flames look like in zero gravity? The room will be called "UMmmmmmm Roommmmmm" and you can set up house in there if you want!

Oh, and did you know Vision Australia's Library Service is available, upon application, so people who have Print Disability, which covers more than blindness? It also cover dyslexia, intellectual difficulties with written language, physical difficulties holding books. Applications require statements about condition, a Doctor's declaration (& I can't remember everything). Check out visionaustralia.org.au
Hey Jomo, sorry to have to ask again- What is that little Avatar pic supposed to look like? I only get so far as to think it is animal, not vege, not fungus, not bacteria, nor metal. Animal - but what species please?

It was a Prairie Dog scratching his bum. Not a good choice, as you canna see it, lass! Ho hum. I cannot seem to settle to anything. Don't get the Phillip [or Philip] Adams connection - I found this site because my big sister told me about it, she saw an interview on TV with the founders.

I liked the prairie dog - but we are back to the fairy again are we?

Who is your favourite artist Jomo? See if you were a fan of John Morrison - James's little brother - you could use a picture of him! I have been trying to think of something as I really miss your first avatar. But the fairy isn't too bad just not as striking on the page.

Thanks for the infor on Vision Australia benj - and I don't know what a flame looks like in zero gravity - perhaps no different - something I will ask my husband - he has a great brain - beautifully balanced right and left - pure maths and sociology and he is in there playing on an electric guitar and talking to India about some server problem.

Oh, Jomo - you don't have to change your avatar on my account - just I would like you to tell me what it is when I ask, my imagination will take it from there - & if I am still not satisfied, I can Google and find pictures to suppliment the imagination. It's cool - I liked the thought of it scratching it's bum! LOL and all.
Maybe the heat would force the flame into it's usual shape?
It's good that he can do something while on the phone like that - maybe he's got two brains - or one of these activities is on auto-pilot?

Oh, and Jomo, Philip Adams is a big bloke who habitually wears black and has a bushy beard and a radio programme called Late Night Live on ABC Radio National. He interviews more like chats with many and various people, sometimes in depth for the whole hour. He's an Atheist with very left of centre views, a HUGE Asio File (much bigger than UM's) but he will have people from 'the other side' of just about everything (to claim absolutely everything here might not be absolutely true), and once he had an informal competition (I still don't know if there was a prize beyond your entry being accepted and used) asking for listeners to name 'The Listener' (singular and plural, male and female, young and old, etc). Someone came up with Gladys - which is sort of like Gladioli (& it wouldn't surprise me if he has interviewed Barry Humphries/Dane Edna Everage too). Hence a connection, albeit a little contrived.

Oh yes he has a very big file - a country lad too he was - and still goes home to the paddocks every week end.

He has a really great voice - and he has a great style of interview. He isn't always correct in his views which is a shame but then - no one is perfect. I am going to find out if he ever interview Barry and Edna - I am sure it is possible.

Silly lot, you. Now old woman toad-ally confused. 1st, I didn't change the avatar on your account, dear Mebenji, it just 'happened' to change itself. Ho hum. I will find another thing, and use that, and another and another and another ad in finitum, just because I am - disconnected.

I don't listen to the radio much. Or watch TV. I just don't kind of do anything much at the moment - catch up on emails - sleep. Y'know, just nuffink.

My favourite artist? Vincent Van Gogh - for his art as well as his terrible illness - Salvadore Dali - Escher enthralls me - Picasso when he was painting, and not just being a prick - Da Vinci for his absolutely monumental glory - Munch, because he painted the inside of my head - Clive Barker - Mervyn Peake - Norman Lindsay - aw, I dunno!

Awk! I forgot H R Giger - an artist from out of the well of Fractal Reality - an artist who reaches into quantum worlds and draws out - stuff.
    Ahem.. Very portentous, Moi.

No I think it is wonderful - and yes it was Munch - The Scream that is the piece of art that I think I would like to have as an avatar. I don't think it would be of great use though it would just look blobbly and little.

Lets start an art appreciation wall and share our favourite painting etc? Interested? we would have to match it to a mood perhaps, UM xx

Yes. Whatever day it is, leads to whatever is favourite that day. I am changeable as Melbourne weather, me. You start the wall, and I'll watch. Be a hod-carrier, maybe...

I might do that, if someone else don't do it first! I might just be the grumpy old bugger who complains about everyone else's choices, instead. That sounds good. To me, that sounds good to me, it does.
