  We do. I spent quite a lot of time a few years ago, recording Great Tit songs around my garden. Surprisingly, each one is different and easily distinguishable - a dozen is not unusual. In the next few days 'songfights' will begin as each Great Tit tries to establish his territory and attract the girls. Unlike Robins who try to kill intruders, Great Tits just shout at them. Once a territory is secured and owned it stays that way till late summer.

  And Community? Yes, indeed. I believe the loss of 'community' across England is responsible for the lawlessness, vandalism and ghastly teenage behaviour that some people have to endure. Kicking a man to death for remonstrating was unheard of 25 years ago. Now its hardly worth reporting. BB
