  You are a lot of good as a friend!
  You cannot heal necessarily, but you can support!
  I have a friend who also had soo much struggle in her life and it sometimes got so heavy on me because I sure didn't know what to do for her.

  But, as cliche as it sounds, all she ever said she needed was someone to listen to her. And I believe her.

  I think you have a big heart and I'm sure it touches your friends and helps you both... even if its not totally obvious
