Your brick story

Today, my mother came into my room, grabbed my hair, pulled my head back, and slammed me down onto my bed. My little brother, who is my worst enemy on any day of the week, came in there and made her leave.

I grabbed my stuff and said that I was leaving. I started shaking and crying, and he grabbed me and pulled me to his chest. He hugged me and told me that mom would calm down, that everything would be okay. He told me to stay there, and that I didn't need to be driving.

We're not a close family. But when things go really bad, when I'm pushed to my breaking point, he comes through. It's amazing how you can fight with someone everyday, but still love that person, and that person love you, enough that you stand up for one another.

I'm scared that my mother is going to drive both me and my brother to kill ourselves. He's already taken a pistol and put it to his head. I suffer from bouts of depression. My mother is destroying us. I'll be eighteen in four months. I can leave; escape. He's only fifteen. He can't leave yet. If I stay here for him, she's going to push me too far; If I leave, he's alone with that... monster.

Thanks for that hug, bro. I don't know what I'm gonna do yet, but I swear I won't leave you hanging.

I read you comment in the TA. What is the legal age that you can become guardian of your brother and remove him with you when you leave?
your little brother is a very courageous person - maybe you squabble but you do love each other?
