  I visit my family, but the town where I grew up no longer feels like "home". I live 1800 miles away from them and here is home now.

  This brick is about my best friend. When I met her I got a sense of homecoming... Like I'd found something important I didn't even know was missing.

  My grandmother commented that I always sound so happy when she talks to me on the phone, but I'm kind of grumpy when I visit her. I think it's because I don't like being away from home.

  I just re-read my comment and I put "her" instead of "him" about my best friend. He read this brick and then teased me about his "sex change". He is definately male and I moved away from my family to be closer to him.

  home with my family i was always the one who stood out. maybe it was my nose piercing, maybe it was my hot pink hair, what they called my funky clothes, or my favorite converse.. hot pink with pink an grey stars on the laces. most everything i do is for shock value.. my familys home was never my home.. my drum beats differently than their, but it still feels good when my grandma says "it just feels right that your home right now" not enough to make me want to live near them, but enough to know im loved just the same.
