Your brick story

I listened to this song today ... and it just made me think.

All the things I wish I had done when I had chance, now I'll never be able to for one reason or another.

The song says:
Whenever one door closes I hope one more opens.

So, I am hoping another door opens, and those things I wish I had done ... well, maybe I will get too ... just with someone else.

I'm doing good.
I had my hubby put our Karaoke machine where I could actually use it, instead of it sitting in a box, lol. I just put in a few random cds and that song: I hope you dance happened to be one of the songs that played. It just got me to thinking.
There are things I wish I had done, and now because the person I wish I had done them with is gone ... I'll never have the chance to do any of them. Nothing super huge, just like singing a song with my grandfather, or with my grandmother. Or singing that song that I changed the lyrics to, to fit my family ... I never sang that song to them. I never danced with my grandfather.
But, my parents are still here ... so maybe I can still have the chance to DANCE ... just with my daddy.
Silly I know, but that's what the song made me think of.

That's not silly - it is quite wonderful to be able to have such a strong memory that is triggered by a song. There's nothing silly about a sense of loss at all - kind of acknowledges the gaps we deal with when people pass. Um xx
