Your brick story

I hate myself after I see my therapist. She's great but I get so wound up after relating experiences and it brings them all right back again. I had hoped that I would never have to do this.

Sending hugs your way this evening ... and hoping since time has passed a bit, that you are okay.

Focus on where you will be a year from now, two years from now ... the amount of healing and fixing that can be done. I heard a quote one time that "sort of" fits ... "Some people are afraid of what they might find if they try to analyze themselves too much, but you have to crawl into your wounds to discover where your fears are. Once the bleeding starts, the cleansing can begin.”

Of course I'm not exactly sure of your entire story, but I know that we need to search inside of ourselves, bring out memories and feelings that we keep deep down in order to get where we want to be.

Have faith that one day, when past experiences are brought up or when we are reminded of them, they won't affect us so much. I have to keep reminding this to myself ... just keep trucking and working ... and one day, I know everything will be okay.

I've noticed a big similarity with the two of us (well two if you count how much we write!) We both make several bricks a day. I don't see many others like that. I also see that we all change emotions quickly ... I guess that's just "being human".

I wish you a wonderful day and thank you for the many hugs!! They always go directly back to you!

Thanks inspire - for the hugs and the quote - it is very apt - messy but apt. :)

Hi UM, I guess by now you would have shared with your therapist how you feel after seeing her.How long does the feeling last ? And is it over much the same issues?I magine it doesn't happen each time you see her or does it? I hope by now you are feeling more at ease. It's painful reliving difficult stuff which we is why repress so much of it. Take care . Sending big Hugs , Cate

    Hey, UM,
I"ve had sessions like that, but because I can suppress stuff (feelings) all too well I don't have those days so much - but I am an expert at avoidance/denial/minimizing, etc. And my humour blocks it as well. I distract myself, I can sleep too much too, at the wrong times, and I do zone out when painting or drawing, or even when I am writing afterall, I have said to him, how can you write while crying? "Pain's a bastard," I said Wednesday, "I don't want to feel pain"and if I can possibly avoid it I will.
That's why my therapy isn't working as well as it might, and costing me more money at the very least. He always tells me to "sit with your feelings" let them be what they are, no judgements, just acknowledge them, record them if you want. You might like to do that, and give the notes about these feelings to your Doc. I have done that with mine when I have felt unable to voice the thoughts and feelings aloud.
NOW, go be kind to yourself, treat yourself with love and care. And have a few long (((((HUGS)))))) from me.
