  There are a few of us on the Wall who were close to our mums and they have passed on. My mum died 3 years back and I am still not over the grief - I keep thinking I should be but it isn't like that.

  Yes My mum passed away 1st February and yes it is so painful. I thought I was going mad at one stage and couldn't take anymore. The trouble was she lived with me for 15 years. I have been told that there is 3 stages and I am at the 2nd stage, the 3rd stage can last up to 5 years. I don't know how I am going to cope for that long.

  Well, we could talk about it here or on a TA. The TA would be good because lots of people have lost their mums and there will be lots to share.

  Sometimes the theory of grief is good to know but I found myself going forwards and then thinking I wasn't following this linear line and I know that the way I deal with things is very haphazard.

  I still go to call her on the phone and tell her things - or I find her feeling quite close to me like she is still here, or my kids do something that seems to be of her. The more you talk about it the better you will understand the feelings and where they come from. I am still dealing with not being responsible for my mum and so there was a loss of a role as well as the loss of a mum. When do you notice your mum's absence the most?
