  I'm at work today and I'm exhausted.

  I cleaned and re-merchandised the entire sales floor. My co-workers are mocking me, but the store hasn't looked this good in a long while.

  I think I have too much nervous energy today. :-)

  His surgery is scheduled for Noon tomorrow.

  Well, there was a cancellation at 10:00 a.m., so we went in and we're just getting home now, so it's been six hours. I am exhausted (I didn't sleep last night).

  They took a couple of samples to biopsy, but the surgeon said everything looked well, so the cause is still up in the air.

  I'm going to go lay down and hopefully nap.

  Thank you again for the support. I do appreciate it.

  He was vomiting because of the pain and the VA hospital said it was gas. I had to take him to a private hospital and he had an x-ray (no gas visible) and now he is scheduled for a cat scan and MRI to try to find out what is happening.

  It was $500 for him to get checked out at the other hospital, but if they find out what is wrong with him it will be worth it.

  We are starting over again though. I spent the day on the phone with doctors trying to get his records transferred. The military never makes anything easy.

  Good grief - Thorn this is a worry - funny kind of diagnosis to provide - gas - a bit of a demeaning assessment. I know it is possible but ..

  and so it starts again for you .... I hope you get better attention at the new hospital. I am starting to feel the military don't really like to look after their own - bad enough that the pollies don't. sending lots of love and hugs UMxx

  I would like to thank everyone who has responded. I am so happy to have this haven.

  My love is still not feeling better. He's been housebound all week, just getting in the car causes large amounts of pain.

  He is going in for more tests next week.

  Wow Thorn, I just watched the video with Sen Murray and that snake Mansfield. Why can't the democrats get someone like her to run instead of Clinton - she seems at least a real person. The other video with Katz and the Dir of VA was just depressing - With a boss like Mansfield I wonder if anyone is ever going to be able to put in place an effective social safety net for Vets. Trouble is it feels like the politicians are part of the blame game too - I wonder how this is ever going to be changed for the better....

  I'm sorry that YL is still in pain - he must be a really resilliant fellow. Yes keep breathing it sounds like the best you can do at the moment.

  It is very hard to be with someone you love who is in pain. Pain cannot be taken away but i imagine your unstinting accompaniment and presence bring him great comfort. And i hope we bring some of that comfort to you just by being here and caring. Love roze

  Hello again everyone.

  They think they know what is wrong with my love - he has a kidney stone thast is so large it won't pass, so he is having the sonic treatment to break it up the day before we leave for vacation.

  Which means I get to drive the 1700 miles to his mother's house while he is passing kidney stones.

  I am not looking forward to this vacation. I would much rather stay home where I can take care of him, but he insists on going.

  Oh Well, at least there is an end in sight for his pain.

  THorn, It is so good to have finally got a diagnosis. Kidney stones can be so very painful so he really has my sympathy! It sounds like it is not going to be a great drive. Can you find some things/ways that are going to make this vacation more of a rest/attraction for you? Rx

  It's great at least that YL has had a diagnosis that isn't life threatening. Though kidney stones are a grim business to deal with I hope they do a good job of shattering it.

  1700 miles - that's a big trip - hope you have a safe trip and got lots of good music to hang with. Hope you can take lots of little breaks to stay safe. lots of hugs UM xx

  That's great news Thorn; not only can they solve the problem it means that he apparently does not have GWS. It means that his life is not in danger any more. You must be so relieved.
  Yes that's very long trip - we always try to make the trip part of the holiday, stopping often in really nice places, eating well, taking it in short stages. Hope you can do that too. Love BB

  Hey Thorn, cheer yourself up with the thought that if you were doing a 3400 mile round-trip in the UK right now, and assuming 40 miles to the gallon and 2 dollars to the pound - That would set you back the best part of $1000.00 for fuel.

  I'm saving the gas receipts, but I'm too scared to add them together at this time. The trip is so far pretty uneventful, lots of time with my love's family. We are leaving today to go see my family and we are only spending one night with them. This is the hard part of the trip.
