  What would it take for you to believe him?

  I don't think I deserve him... I know I don't deserve him. I've been in counselling for self-esteem issues but it really doesn't seem to have made much difference. The hardest thing is that I have no idea what it would take for me to believe him.

  Deserve - yes I understand how you are using this word. I've been there thinking that I am such an awful piece of work that it would be impossible for anyone to find much good in me leave alone love me. That only changed when I got through some of the bad stuff in my counseling -
