Your brick story

I have always thought of the journey as peeling off the layers of an onion and hoped to find at the core something which was the kernel of me.

I saw this image and it resonated with me but I can't quite work out why. Is it because layers are too easy and straightforward and each layer is think and fibrous - maybe the string ball is more appropriate - nothing is discrete and once it is bound together it is a whole o layers just connections of contact of the same long thread - no distinct layers and no kernel - just the end of the string (I could have said end of the line - it was tempting but a bad pun).

An end leads to a beginning.
I wonder how many useful things there are to do do with an unravelled ball of string. Just a thought.

I prefer this string theory to the onion:-)

How do we ditch the metaphors, pretty or elegant as they may be, and be ourselves?
I am hoping you are okay too. - but if you are not.....just call me at my place. I am going to continue picture. I changed my mind and re-made some of Micelf, and it is looking better already. Still have heaps to do, though. I wish I wasn't so fussy! No good wishing that though - just have to work from where I am at this time.

No I am getting comfortable about the ball of string certainly feels like I unravel a lot - metaphors work for me. Ever read Lakoff's think of an elephant?
