Your brick story

I have been a very mobile worker for the last decade and a bit and so it has meant lots of hello's and goodbye's. Generally I am fine with this - but today was my farewell from the place that I have worked at for 18 months. I have worked with two close friends - One is the National President and the other a Vice President - I was doing my usual gig and ended up forming a tremendous fondness for so many people there. I maintain this is always a problem for me as it gets in the way of running through a change management programme but it happened. So at my farewell today I had to sit through speeches which were made by my friends and extra contributions by the people that I will miss tremendously. The image on the brick was made by the PA to the NatPres who gave it to me as a memento of my time there - always with a white board - my commitment to indigenous peoples and the lovely Rosie poster.

My husband and kids reckon it is very recognisable as me - well the lovely man I am married to actually said it brings out my inner child! I think it looks a lot like my son! This might be the best image Wallers will get to see of me - it is better than the bio brick I made for myself.

I am sad sitting here thinking about not seeing these people so often but know that the next place I work will bring another tremendous bunch of people - I wonder if they too will see me as a broom hilda type ?

You look lovely on the picture. Seems you leave people you encounter with very good impression of yourself. Well, despite I've never "really" encountered you, you leave me with a very good impression. Sometimes, while reading what you say, I sometimes see Calvin's mother.

You are looking at this in such a positive way ... not like you would do any less, but I'm glad. Saying goodbye to people is hard, especially after so long. I'm sending out special hugs to you! I love the picture by the way ... although you might fear I would pinch your cheeks! I have a habit of that, although most of my victims happen to be under the one year old mark!

Yes well the image is rather flattering Overseas - I have many more wrinkles than this - and Inspire the last person who pinched my cheeks was never ever visited again! No pinching please sweetheart. And Jo I will try to find you a similar outfit though I think you would look better in a horse drawn Chariot - like the ones in Ben Hur? Now THAT would clear a way through the supermarket. I wonder what benj would look like in a nice amazonian outfit?
