  Jaydee - the longing for the childhood we never had - it hurts so much. I look at little children laughing and playing, and I remember something else, and sometimes the pain is as vivid and sharp as it was then.

  My heart goes out to you. There are many of us on here who lived fearful, fearsome, childhoods. It changes who we are forever.

  Hullo JD. What a delightful image. There are several people here like you who suffered awful childhoods: I was one of the lucky ones whose childhood was unspoilt. Just at the moment the Wall is very quiet so it may take a little while for your brick to bring you the solace you need. If you can post your story as a TA [Talkabout] people are more likely to see it and respond. You need have no fear - you have come to a very caring, sensitive community. Meanwhile its easier to respond appropriately if you can say a little about yourself: age, home, kids, partner/spouse etc. There's an 'About Me' box in your profile. BB
