Your brick story

I am being a bit childish I guess - I want to sleep and I want to sleep without bad dreams.

I want, I want - I know it doesn't sound good

I wonder if I am ever satisfied?

    What's the magic word?

    Now, repeat after me, "May I have a happy dream, please?"

    And write that on your blackboard about a hundred times.

    And then get some perspective. I'd much rather have some bad dreams, even the ones I find difficult to shake off, than the miserble lives some people are living in the world today. (Now I'm thinking Burma).

    I also notice, certain times of the month and diet can be triggers for more vivid dreams, not so sure about the content - think that is definately reated to thoughts and feelings that go undealt with (maybe we are just too busy or we really don't want to go there.) I tend to now try to focus on the feelings I experience durring the dream and shortly after waking, rather than the content itself (even though that is imediately more compelling, might even be useful in my fiction. Sometimes it is so utterly amazing - if horrifying at the same time. It is hard, takes practice.)

    If you can practise all the good sleep rules - like I don't - which includes that your bed is only for sleep and sex (not reading even), maybe that will help?

    God all of those rules - but yes I follow them - including the really crazy one about sitting on the floor in the dark and breathing - where do these sleep researchers get their ideas??

    What about those friggin' generals in Burma, hey, gosh the things I think about when they pop into my head - now that is not good for sleep - calm, c,a,l,m, c - a - l - m . . . . .
